About the AKM Centre

The AKM Centre has been operating since 1999 and has a suite of professionally appointed rooms providing a variety of suitable accommodation and rates.

The building located at 24 Tanner Street was built at the turn of the last century as a part of the Australian Knitting Mills. In 1998 the building, which had fallen into disrepair was completely redeveloped into warehouse converted shells at which time the current owner developed Apartment 11 into a counselling centre with purpose built rooms.

The Centre offers a variety of modern professionally presented rooms with a well-appointed waiting area, self-serve tea, coffee and water provided for clients plus a client bathroom.

There is free Wi-Fi available throughout the Centre along with a staff kitchen and separate bathroom.

The Centre is located a 50 metre walk to Richmond train station and in close proximity to a multitude of cafes and restaurants that Swan Street Richmond has to offer.
